Writing exercise created by John Jeter
“Fiction is a great lie that tells the truth.” – Dorothy Allison
The goal of this writing exercise is to take any ordinary object and give it exceptional value by creating a story about it. Imagine an old, dusty trumpet that is possibly missing some essential parts. Create a short story about where the object came from and how it came into your possession. What story can you weave that will make this trumpet invaluable and highly sought after?
Have fun with this one!! I hope you will share your writing with us in the comments below.
